The MTC (Missionary Training Center
We were off to Provo with a wave from Mother! We arrived at the MTC, received our name tags, meal and security cards, room keys, schedules, and attended a Devotional. We met some great senior couples, and Monday morning were off to orientation. We've met several couples again today, preparing to serve all around the world, from Indonesia, India, Russia, Cayman Islands, Canada, and the U.S. What a fantastic place to stay! We have a very clean and comfortable little "motel room" and 3 meals a day! Tomorrow we hit the studying hard, actually begin our homework this evening. There are more than 2,000 missionaries here, and another 500 arriving Wednesday. This MTC is like a well-oiled machine, so organized. They have ambassadors come to visit from all around the world to see how it is run, and the first place they want to see is the cafeteria. They wonder how do you feed so many people? Awesome! Barb

The night before
We were set apart Wednesday evening by President Decker. We had wonderful blessings! David, Jenna, Cyrena and Natalie were there with us. Afterwards, David, Jenna, all the kids and us bought cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory and went back home to eat and open the wonderful book all the kids and grandkids made for us. The comments from everyone
were why Ralph and I would be good missionaries. We loved it!
A huge thanks to David, Jenna and kids for all their work in helping us get out of town!

Leaving home
We left home today, Thursday, traveling north to Salt Lake City, before we check into the MTC (Missionary Training Center) in Provo, Utah. Our car is packed and our house is clean. I experienced an emotional morning, but we overcame the nerves and are sailing happily along the freeway, munching on goodies from Laura.

Oklahoma Here We Come!
On August 23rd Ralph checked the mail and discovered that our much anticipated white envelope had arrived. We called our kids and told them to be near their phones and be on Face Time at 4:30. We were prepared to go anywhere but we definitely weren't expecting to read Oklahoma Oklahoma City mission! We are anxious to get started in this new adventure and as we've been preparing and packing Oklahoma's sounding pretty wonderful!
